Dear Industry Colleagues,

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding regarding the 14th International Congress of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (ICIEM 2021) to be held in Sydney.

Following the extraordinary circumstances related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and after thorough evaluation of the emergency situation globally, the Organising Committee with assistance from; our international societies, a survey sent to ICIEM members and guidance from Arinex our appointed Professional Conference Organiser, the ICIEM 2021 Organising Committee have decided to postpone ICIEM 2021 from August 2021 to November 2021 and deliver a Hybrid Event. Some components of the Congress will be delivered at a physical venue, but other components -including Sponsorship and Exhibition- will be hosted via a virtual platform with the potential to upgrade to physical opportunities pending international borders reopening.

To confirm, ICIEM 2021 will now take place in November 2021 from 21 – 23 November 2021.

This decision has not been taken lightly, and the Organising Committee believes this to be the best step forward in the light of advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Australian Federal Government. Factors such as the current closure of international borders, economic impact and company travel bans were taken into consideration, as was the need to safeguard the ICIEM community at large.

Although Australia has taken enhanced measures for the control of the spread of COVID-19, the Organising Committee are committed to ensuring that the health and safety of all of our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and stakeholders is prioritised above all else

On behalf of the ICIEM 2021 Organising Committee, we thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring that we continuously strive for excellence.

Should you have any questions regarding the postponement, please contact the Congress Managers at
